Course Description

Basic first aid classes are more focused on adults and touches briefly on infants and children.  The Pediatric first aid classes bridges the gap between the first aid needs of adults and that of children.

The HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid course, designed by the American Heart Association, meets the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for child care workers in all 50 states.  This course teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children such as what to do when a child or infant has a breathing problem, giving compressions and breaths to an infant or child, and stopping bleeding that can be seen.

During this course, our certified instructors will help train you with the skills and hands on knowledge that are necessary in medical emergencies, injury emergencies and environmental emergencies.

Course Length

Approximately 8 hours

Course Audience

This class is open to anyone. It is geared towards child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth group leaders, coaches and any other individuals responsible for children.

Certification

After successful completion of the course and the necessary skills requirements you will receive the American Heart Association HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid Course Completion Card. This certification is valid for two years.
